Visiting Cave of the Mounds

Wednesday, March 23, 2016

It's our spring break here for the public schools and while I don't get the luxury of having the entire week off I was able to take a few days off from the library to get away with the family for a bit of exploring. We decided to incorporate a bit of learning fun in with a visit to Zoey's grandparents and we're so glad we did! We truly had so much fun. Our first stop was visiting the Cave of the Mounds National Natural Landmark in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin.

After purchasing our tickets we looked around the gift shop for a bit before heading out on the guided tour through the cave. I snapped a few pictures of interesting things from the gift shop.

The true excitement began however once our tour began. The tour lasted approximately an hour and we were in a group of about 12 people or so. We kept to the back of the group so I could snap some pictures as we went along without bothering people and so that Zoey could spend time looking at things too.

It was such a great learning experience! Zoey was in awe and truthfully, we were too!
