Making a Snow Volcano!

Monday, March 7, 2016

This was a cool experiment! We got the tutorial on how to do this from Science Sparks. It was another project where all of the materials needed were readily available around the house. Yay! Today was a beautiful day here weather wise, and while we still have a ton of snow we knew we wanted to get outside and enjoy the day somehow...this fit the bill!

First Zoey created her snow mound and we added a small cup buried at the top.

In the cup she added 3 teaspoons of baking soda, a teaspoon of dish soap and some red food coloring. When she was all set with those ingredients she added some vinegar. More or less depending on how your volcano is reacting. We ended up adding more than what Science Sparks recommended.

There she blows!

This was a very fun and easy project with some bang appeal! Super easy clean-up too!
